 In anticipation of our fam's big spring break trip to Chicago I have been DIY'n some new duds like a mo-fo. Continuing on with my mini sewing series. A few days ago I showed you how to make a Flouncy Skirt. Today I show you my foray into bubbledom. Finally we are feeling the fall here in southern California. Yeahhhhhh! Yes! Whoot-whoot! Oh Boooy :) Feel my enthusiasm? No? Well how about another whoopeeeee! Ok so this DIY is a total rip off of my DIY Faux 'Beaded' Indian Beaded Bracelet, same concept just applied differently...I guess I am just flattering myself by copying it :) So this whole husband working nights has really freed up some time for me. Feel like fall yet for you? Not quite fall-like here... high eighties with a hot hot breeze. Not really sweater weather either... but I just had to scratch this itch I have had lately for lace. Saw this in Anthro the other day  liked it, loved it... knew there had to be a way to make it. This sweater is all about the details  anthro stripe moss cardiganseems doable... I had a favorite sweater that needed a bit of sprucing up. Soooo any who.
I needed to update my summer wardrobe and didn't want to spend much $$$. I was at good ol' Wally Mart doing some shopping and spotted these plain tanks on sale of $3. Three bucks! So I scooped up a variety of colors not really sure what I was going to do with them. Sure they are fine by themselves, but that wouldn't be very crafty now would it?
So once at home I futzed around looking through my closets for 'stuff' to spice things up a bit.

 Aren't bow ties just adorable?! And bow ties on a BABY BOY?! With his chubby wubby little cheekies... awwwwww. Ok I'll stop it! But I really do love this little tutorial. Bow ties are made in so many ways. You could easily create a bow tie applique. Please see my applique tutorial if this interests you by clicking HERE This tutorial is no sew, but you could very easliy follow these steps and hand stitch instead of using hot glue. It would probably stay put better with a little stit...
