DIY Rhinestone Embellished Cardi

Posted by Honor on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, In : Clothing

In anticipation of our fam's big spring break trip to Chicago I have been DIY'n some new duds like a mo-fo. I have been a'sewing and weaving and knitting and crocheting and plucking peacock feathers and dabbling in some millinery... you know the usual.

Yeah right. Let's just stick to the craft I like to call, 'Glueage'. Where one can make designer like ensembles simply by slapping some glue on some stones. Like the Big Baubles top from yesterday. Now that's what I'm talking about. This here D...

Posted by Honor on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, In : Clothing

I've got big baubles

fancy big baubles
And he's got big baubles,
And she's got big baubles,

But we've got the biggest baubles of them all!

Fancy Dancy DIY lyrics c/o ACDC (well, it's my rendition of Big Balls actually.. but I felt it was close enough!)

Anyone else stoked on the whole embellishments tend? Yes? No? I feel like you can never have enough beading, jewels, lace, dancing elephants, tambourine monkies, and umph! on clothing. I'...

 Where did you go?

Wait! Come back! These are turning out so awesome, I promise. Not at all like those crazy (and hideous) denim duds of the past.

DIY Fur Boot Socks

Posted by Honor on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, In : Clothing

Finally we are feeling the fall here in southern California.

Yeahhhhhh! Yes! Whoot-whoot! Oh Boooy :)

Feel my enthusiasm? No? Well how about another whoopeeeee!

We live in an interesting part of San Diego. Far enough away from the coast to avoid the constant marine layer during May-June-July, but close enough to the mountains to see the thunderheads and count the lighting strikes but avoid the torrential downpour. So as I watched the thunderheads yesterday with the kiddos and perused the intran...

DIY Faux Beaded Top

Posted by Honor on Friday, September 7, 2012, In : Clothing

Ok so this DIY is a total rip off of my DIY Faux 'Beaded' Indian Beaded Bracelet, same concept just applied differently...I guess I am just flattering myself by copying it :)

So this whole husband working nights has really freed up some time for me. I probably could go completely 'old lady' and pick up hand embroidery and hand beading (no offense if you enjoy these past times... but I have yet to encounter a fellow 26 year old who does ;). I love the look but not so in love with the effo...

Swarovski Crystal Pocket Tee DIY

Posted by Honor on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, In : Clothing
As promised here is another DIY about bling and clothing. This simple addition to a tee makes a world of difference. Yes it is a plain tee from Target, but you could easily dress it up for a night out on the town.

Say what? Wear a tee to go out?!

Yes ma'am... you don't have to sacrifice comfort for style. Here we go!

This is basically the same DIY as the studded pocket cutoffs... just a change in item to decorate and the iron on pieces.
You can pick up hot fix Swarovski Crystal here. You won...

DIY Gold Studded Pocket Cutoffs

Posted by Honor on Monday, August 6, 2012, In : Clothing
This diy can't get any simpler. Even though it is like a mini promo for my other business Sue's Sparklers... I'm sure you will like it.
As I stated before this month has been dedicated to revamping my closet. Even if that means a little touch up here and there. I really like how rock and roll this came out, yet it isn't too hard core. Even a mom sporting a baby carrier and pushing a tot around can rock this trend. Enjoy!

Tips & Pointers:
What you need: Your regular old iron, a hand full of ir...

DIY Anthropologie Scarf

Posted by Honor on Friday, July 27, 2012, In : Clothing
So this week has been dedicated to updating my summer wardrobe. Yes a little late... but it is Southern California here where it is summer, like, all the time.
I was browsing in anthro the other day and I saw these great summer scarves.

The $48 price tags are not so great.

So bingo bongo make it myself

so awkward looking at a camera when you are taking a pic of yourself. So please excuse the sideways glances ;)

Tips & Pointers: Ok basic run through. Take two old tees and...

Bleach Tanks (Embellishing clothes with bleach)

Posted by Honor on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, In : Clothing
Soooo any who.
I needed to update my summer wardrobe and didn't want to spend much $$$. I was at good ol' Wally Mart doing some shopping and spotted these plain tanks on sale of $3. Three bucks! So I scooped up a variety of colors not really sure what I was going to do with them. Sure they are fine by themselves, but that wouldn't be very crafty now would it?
So once at home I futzed around looking through my closets for 'stuff' to spice things up a bit.

Buttons? No not feeling those

Ribbon? Umm...

Applique Onesie

Posted by Honor Hansen on Saturday, March 3, 2012, In : Clothing

Ever gone to Target, Gymboree or Janie & Jack and say 'Oh I could make that!'... well every time I go to those stores I say that, but it wasn't until now that I actually DID anything about it :) The applique tutorial is fairly simple and gets easier every time you do it. I have a little boy on the way, the 4th boy of all the grandchildren so I am endowed with loads of hand me downs. Not that I am not grateful for the HMDs, but they just didn't feel like him. Is it possible for your unborn ...
