DIY Anthropologie Feather and Antler Ornaments

Posted by Honor on Thursday, November 20, 2014, In : Holiday Decorations

So it's a balmy 72 degrees outside and you're trying to get into the holiday spirit, what do you do? First off, yes, I live in San Diego, so yes, it really is 72 or really closer to 78 outside. Snowpocalypse? What's that? Is it really lovely all the time here? Definitely. Hard to get into the holiday spirit? Excruciatingly so. My go to besides spotify is the anthropolgie website. It's always packed with cutesie snow/holiday themed graphics and gimmicks perfectly aimed to get you into the holi...

Anthro Mugs Featured on Knock Off Decor

Posted by Honor on Thursday, February 21, 2013, In : Decor Crafts

If you haven't checked out my DIY anthropologie coffee mugs, perhaps you should! This great DIY (in my humble opinion) was featured on Knock Off Decor. Whooot Whoot!
The tutorial shows you a new way to decorate ceramic mugs with sharpie markers. My very own spin on the fad.

Thanks for stopping by! A lot is on the agenda for this little craft site. We just got back from a spur of the moment family vacation to play in the snow, and I am currently trying to hang this Moroccan mirror I just diy'd....

DIY Anthropologie Alphabranch Monogram Ornament

Posted by Honor on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, In : Holiday Decorations

As promised from yesterday, today is a cute and simple Anthro DIY. A little somethin somethin so easy that you can make while watching Sons of Anarchy.... well is what I'll be doing tonight anyway! These are great stocking stuffers or gifts to give at work. And they cost little to nothing!
Anthropologie always has the best ornaments. So unique, so festive. I have been stocking up on them (or trying to) for years and my stash has started to get impressive ;) But when I saw these little bugger...

DIY Faux Fur Scarf (Anthropologie Plush Stole Inspired)

Posted by Honor on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, In : Accessories

Is it chilly by you yet? It was here for a hot minute (I guess for a crisp moment), but now we have this darn Santa Ana that blasts us with 80+ degree weather. Wah wah. I know I shouldn't be complaining about the fantastic weather we have here in southern Cali, but I can't help it. I want my sweaters and scarves and boots and cozy nights watching my husband lay naked in front of the fire on a bear skin rug... just kidding ;) but you get my point. All I can think about fashion wise is chunk...

DIY Layers of Lace Cardigan

Posted by Honor on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, In : Clothing
Feel like fall yet for you? Not quite fall-like here... high eighties with a hot hot breeze. Not really sweater weather either... but I just had to scratch this itch I have had lately for lace. Lace is just so pretty. I love lace in an old-lady-crocheting-doilies-in-her-recliner-with-a-lace-shawl-over-her-shoulders kind of way... not so much the hot-child-in-the-city kind of way. If you catch my drift. So here is my ode to my fellow old lady lace loving sisters...

Looks very Anthro-ish right? ...

How to Wear a Cloche Hat

Posted by Honor on Friday, August 31, 2012, In : Beauty

Fall fashion can be tricky right? I love seeing new styles and trying certain things out, but there is always that one piece/accessory that I reserve for the 'Oh I could never pull that one off' category. This season it is the cloche hat. A little vintage, a little preppy and a whole lot of sass. Right up my alley. The cloche hat made a reappearance last fall season and it seems to be sticking around for a while. But it does look like a difficult accessory to correctly style... at least t...

DIY Anthropologie Stripe Moss Cardigan

Saw this in Anthro the other day

liked it, loved it... knew there had to be a way to make it. This sweater is all about the details

anthro stripe moss cardigan

seems doable... I had a favorite sweater that needed a bit of sprucing up. It is a bright yellow abstract pattern (instead of the stripes above)... so I just found some yellow/white yarn in my notions closet and went with it. Here we go.

Tips & Pointers: I was lucky enough to have yarn on hand that went with the cardigan that I wanted to e...

Saw these the other day at Urban Outfitters...

Cork Letters

Cool. Cool... but I bet I can beat that price of $12.00 each... and tweak it so it fits my style.  So here we go

What you need: A roll of cork. Found it at Hobby Lobby for $9.00... and it is a LARGE roll. Could fit a dictionary's page worth of words on it. Some wood or card board letters, spray adhesive, craft knife, hot glue and some popsicle sticks.
Tips & Hints: Pretty simple. Spray the front of the letter with the glue, hold it dow...

DIY Anthropologie Art

Posted by Honor on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, In : Decor Crafts
Ok. Love anthropologie but sometimes I think 'you got to be kidding me?!' with regards to their prices.

this is a perfect example

Yellow Bird by Tom Judd....

ok yes it is an original painting/collage but REALLY NOW??? $1500 for a 10"x10" piece of art. One thousand five hundred dollars for less than ONE SQUARE FOOT?!?!?!
Bawwwwwhhhhh

So I gave it a try myself. While I am happy with the results I admit that it is not perfect. Well hey now, I'm not a professional artist you know.

DIY Anthropologie Scarf

Posted by Honor on Friday, July 27, 2012, In : Clothing
So this week has been dedicated to updating my summer wardrobe. Yes a little late... but it is Southern California here where it is summer, like, all the time.
I was browsing in anthro the other day and I saw these great summer scarves.

The $48 price tags are not so great.

So bingo bongo make it myself

so awkward looking at a camera when you are taking a pic of yourself. So please excuse the sideways glances ;)

Tips & Pointers: Ok basic run through. Take two old tees and...

DIY Anthropologie Lampshade

Posted by Honor on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, In : Decor Crafts

easy. simple. fun. anthropologie knock-off 'kindergarten style'.

I just pulled up a couple of Anthropologie lampshades and bedding examples and riffed off those. Just sketch very lightly with your pencil and go slowly with the puff paint to avoid blow outs. We want to avoid the splatter spin art look here :)
It is hard to see in the pics but it is the texture that makes the shade so awesome. Looks faux embroidered.
I was originally going to leave the white of the shade show through, but though...

DIY Faux Antiqued Mirror (No Chemicals)

Posted by Honor on Thursday, May 24, 2012, In : Decor Crafts

Do you love all things chippy & vintage like me? Well if so this quick craft is right up your ally. I am currently obsessed with antique mirrors, but after doing some research I am not impressed with the prices of store bought pieces nor the harsh chemicals used to make them your self. So what to do, what to do.... be creative! I read many tutorials on how to make your own mercury glass and it seemed like I could transfer the basics to create a faux antiqued mirror. So here you go... Enjoy an...

DIY Moss Wreath Anthro Style

Posted by Honor on Thursday, May 17, 2012, In : Decor Crafts

We are so ready for summer time. I think there will lots of days spent at the beach. Just have to be extra careful with the babes and the sun. Beach bumming it will be. Until then I am trying to cram all my spring & summer time crafts in so I can really enjoy the time with them. I also plan on having a few get togethers at the house and I felt that my entrance isn't so 'grand' these days. So a little diy was in order. Moss Wreaths Anthro Style... Enjoy!

What you need: A basic twig wreath. I g...

Anthropologie Inspired Canvas Tote

Posted by Honor on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, In : Accessories

Well the baby boy is here and I am in dire need of a new diaper/tote bag. Nothing to fancy. I never really loved any of the diaper bags out there on the market these days. Either to bland or to baby. So where do I go for inspiration? To the anthro website of course! I spotted several hand painted leather/canvas versions and instantly fell in love with them... but not the $300 + price tag. I just knew I could create a cheap fix. So here it goes. This took me a few days to put together. Not bec...

Home Sneek Peek: Master Bedroom 'Anthro Inspired'

Posted by Honor on Monday, April 9, 2012, In : Home Sneek Peek

Welcome to our master bedroom! Just a little sneek peek into our little anthropologie inspired love nest. While our room is not huge... it makes up for it in charm. For this little tour I focused on the feature wall of the room. I created this custom wallpaper out of a vintage themed scrapbook paper book. I fell in love with the patterns, maps & images of stamps as soon as I saw them... but alas I am not an avid scrapbooker so how could I justify purchasing such a large amount of scrapbook p...

Anthropologie Inspired Picture Frame

Posted by Honor on Monday, March 12, 2012, In : Decor Crafts

This weekend I went on my bi-weekly expeditions to anthropologie to get inspired and see if there was anything I couldn't live without. Of course I can't possibly live without having absolutely everything in the entire store in my possession. But sadly until I win the lottery or anthro so graciously decides to donate the entire collection to moi... I will have to do without...Boo!
But don't worry, I make do. Yes! Anthropologie always gets my creative juices flowing. When I got home still n...
