DIY Puff Paint & Jewels Kraft Paper Gift Wrap
I thought this turned out so pretty. Don't you? Original too! I'll have to get back to you on how she reacts when I give her this little lovely. I think she will like it :) Make sure to check out my other posts on DIY Kraft paper gift wrap. Such as my hand stamped or comic themed ideas. Thanks for stopping by! Continue reading ...
DIY Hand Stamped Wrapping Paper
Back into the swing of things I guess?! Crafting always helped clear my mind (aka distract me from the incessant thoughts and worries buzzing around up there). So what better way to distract myself than with the thoughts of my loved ones faces when I present them with these b-e-a-utiful hand wrapped lovelies.
I did a little experimenting today. Stamp experimenting that is. I did a few variations and this is the first one that I deemed fit to share with you. I tried all sorts of things to stam... Continue reading ...
Gift Wrapping Ideas: Brown Kraft Paper
Brown Kraft paper is my go-to when it comes to wrapping. It is such a great blank canvas. Lots of different possibilities. Perfect for any crafter to be, well, crafty :) It is also a great big-o plus that it comes on a HUGE roll and cost only a few bucks. My kind of craft supply. So of course this year is no exception when it came down to wrapping and mailing out some Christmas presents. I rolled out my never ending roll and gathered together some accoutrements and got down to business. I ... Continue reading ...
Easy Christmas Decorating: Bookcase
These built in bookcases have been the best addition to our living room. The husband gets to feel accomplished by having built them himself and I get to decorate them. When I feel like futzing around I just shuffle the shelving arrangements and I feel like I have really done something with the day. Just kidding. But decorating these behemoths is a real treat. They are the very first thing you see when you enter our living room so I wanted to do something festive but not over whelming. Here... Continue reading ...
He said he wanted a big one, Christmas Tree that is
One of the biggest reasons why I love this man is his child like enthusiasm. He is the one that wakes me up at 4 am on Christmas morning. He is the one that likes to shake every present under the tree and trick me into revealing what is inside. What a stinker! So I totally saw it coming when he told me he wanted to get the largest tree possible... but this is a whole other bag of potato chips. We went to a new 'cut your own tree' lot this year. It was quite a hike away, but totally worth it... Continue reading ...
DIY Simple Country Christmas Mantel
A little country, a smidgen of rustic, a dash of eclectic and finish it off with a handful of glitter. That is about how I sum up my Christmas decor. I love to incorporate what I already have around the house, such as my vintage window. Top it off with some glittery lights and I am ready to get back to baking some cookies with Lou. Hope you enjoy my mini tour of my Christmas mantel. Nothing very crazy, but a whole lot of homemade love ;) Hope your decorating is going well. some homemade burl... Continue reading ...
DIY Burlap Advent Calendar
Do you feel it yet? Has that Christmas/Holiday spirit nipped you in the booty yet? Yes, I know I know it's not even December yet, but that magical feeling has swept into our home with full gale force winds. A tornado of glitter, tinsel, ornaments and cuttings. As stated before I am trying to limit my store bought holiday decorations and really have a go at crafting up my own batch of goodies. Here is my version of an advent/countdown calendar. A bit country and rustic. Rough around the edges ... Continue reading ...

Life At Home
In the middle of our Christmas crafting, Lou took it upon herself to have a little lipstick break. Not a snack break, not a toy break... no, not even a candy break. This little curmudgeon stealthy crept up to my bathroom and carefully applied my deepest and brightest MAC lipstick. Then popped back down stairs to say "Mama, I'm ready. Let's go to town." She is a beauty don't you think? Lots on the Christmas crafting agenda. I have a DIY burlap advent calendar and stockings coming up next. Thanks ... Continue reading ...
DIY Watercolor Paper Lantern Holiday Ornament
Alright diyers, now that Thanksgiving is over the real holiday mission is on. Your mission (ok, really my mission): Decorate the tree and house is only handmade, natural or found elements. NO STORE BOUGHT hocus pocus. I try so hard every holiday season to not indulge in all the costly holiday pretties.... but it is so hard! Those lovelies are well, so lovely! I welcome you to the first of my handmade ornaments. This one is super simple and involves watercolors. I have been on a really big wate... Continue reading ...
DIY Anthropologie Alphabranch Monogram Ornament
As promised from yesterday, today is a cute and simple Anthro DIY. A little somethin somethin so easy that you can make while watching Sons of Anarchy.... well is what I'll be doing tonight anyway! These are great stocking stuffers or gifts to give at work. And they cost little to nothing! Anthropologie always has the best ornaments. So unique, so festive. I have been stocking up on them (or trying to) for years and my stash has started to get impressive ;) But when I saw these little bugger... Continue reading ...
