Hey-O! Gotta give props to yourself when you can. My kids are happy,
healthy and clean (most of the time) So for the most part I think I'ma
doing ok. A pat on the back, foot massage, facial, pedicure, voodoo zen relaxation take-5-years-off-my-face treatment is in order. I love being in love with my babies and I know they know that. So a great big hoorah! to my fellow mamas and for everyone with a mama's heart for that matter. You don't have to have literally pushed out a watermelon to be a ... Continue reading ...
Happy First Birthday Little Man!
Little man's stats board. A canvas sprayed with chalkboard paint and then decorated with chalkboard markers. While it was supposed to be temporary, I'm thinkin this baby is going on permanent display. Please excuse my absence for the past couple of days... but I have been a lil busy bee prepping for and then celebrating my son's first birthday! I'm like Whooot Whoot on the outside and like boo who on the inside! I can/can't believe my chunk-a-monk is one year old. Some moments seemed to pass... Continue reading ...

Accessories
And I really mean it by super easy. Literally ten minutes to a fab new accessory (or make up bag, pencil pouch, diaper tote... whateves ;) The key is finding these pre-cut squares of patterned viny from your local craft joint. I found these at Hobby Lobby for under a buck each. They were located in the felt craft area. They also have some faux tooled leather and super glittery rectangles that I am working with right now. These vinyl like squares (not really sure what type of material they actua... Continue reading ...

Life At Home
Yep, some days you just want to shovel in some animal crackers hand over fist. Welcome to my pity party. I don't want to complain but I am a bit grumpy over the other night and I am trying to move on. Long story short, we went to a holiday party hosted by old Navy friends of the huz. So while he was out by the fire pit reminiscing I was left to my own devices to corral a wicked fast crawler and a super stubborn two year old. Usually I can laugh it off when Lou pulls some attitude with an audie... Continue reading ...

DIY Hand Stamped Wrapping Paper
Back into the swing of things I guess?! Crafting always helped clear my mind (aka distract me from the incessant thoughts and worries buzzing around up there). So what better way to distract myself than with the thoughts of my loved ones faces when I present them with these b-e-a-utiful hand wrapped lovelies.
I did a little experimenting today. Stamp experimenting that is. I did a few variations and this is the first one that I deemed fit to share with you. I tried all sorts of things to stam... Continue reading ...
Gift Wrapping Ideas: Brown Kraft Paper
Brown Kraft paper is my go-to when it comes to wrapping. It is such a great blank canvas. Lots of different possibilities. Perfect for any crafter to be, well, crafty :) It is also a great big-o plus that it comes on a HUGE roll and cost only a few bucks. My kind of craft supply. So of course this year is no exception when it came down to wrapping and mailing out some Christmas presents. I rolled out my never ending roll and gathered together some accoutrements and got down to business. I ... Continue reading ...

Life At Home
We had our first 'official' family photos taken yesterday. Yes, it was our first time. Usually I am behind the camera capturing all of our family's candid moments. I am no professional, but I have been pretty happy with the results. But finally I decided to hand the reins over to my dear friend Amanda from Two Roses Photography. She is just starting out and her talent & passion is just overflowing. I was very pleased with the results and can tell you that I am now HOOKED on family photos. I h... Continue reading ...
Easy Christmas Decorating: Bookcase
These built in bookcases have been the best addition to our living room. The husband gets to feel accomplished by having built them himself and I get to decorate them. When I feel like futzing around I just shuffle the shelving arrangements and I feel like I have really done something with the day. Just kidding. But decorating these behemoths is a real treat. They are the very first thing you see when you enter our living room so I wanted to do something festive but not over whelming. Here... Continue reading ...
He said he wanted a big one, Christmas Tree that is
One of the biggest reasons why I love this man is his child like enthusiasm. He is the one that wakes me up at 4 am on Christmas morning. He is the one that likes to shake every present under the tree and trick me into revealing what is inside. What a stinker! So I totally saw it coming when he told me he wanted to get the largest tree possible... but this is a whole other bag of potato chips. We went to a new 'cut your own tree' lot this year. It was quite a hike away, but totally worth it... Continue reading ...
DIY Simple Country Christmas Mantel
A little country, a smidgen of rustic, a dash of eclectic and finish it off with a handful of glitter. That is about how I sum up my Christmas decor. I love to incorporate what I already have around the house, such as my vintage window. Top it off with some glittery lights and I am ready to get back to baking some cookies with Lou. Hope you enjoy my mini tour of my Christmas mantel. Nothing very crazy, but a whole lot of homemade love ;) Hope your decorating is going well. some homemade burl... Continue reading ...
DIY Burlap Advent Calendar
Do you feel it yet? Has that Christmas/Holiday spirit nipped you in the booty yet? Yes, I know I know it's not even December yet, but that magical feeling has swept into our home with full gale force winds. A tornado of glitter, tinsel, ornaments and cuttings. As stated before I am trying to limit my store bought holiday decorations and really have a go at crafting up my own batch of goodies. Here is my version of an advent/countdown calendar. A bit country and rustic. Rough around the edges ... Continue reading ...

Friday Finish Line: Last Minute DIY Mother's Day Gifts
Well I decided to take a little 'mini vacay' and enjoy some time gardening with my to little buggers. Thought I could get a lot done planning some DIYs but alas life as a mama of two is very distracting. I got lots of reading of story books, bath times and snacks made but little work done. Oh well. Not much will get done this weekend either because it is good ol mom's day and I will try to relax. Yeah right! Please enjoy this selection on handmade mother's day gifts. Perhaps I will give a coup... Continue reading ...

Friday Finishline
I am totally gushing over Druzy Stone Jewelry, and have been spending quite a bit of time gawking over these pieces of jewelry for sale on etsy. I really like how the rough natural feel of the stone looks when it is paired with smooth shininess of gold or silver. But all this gawking is not in vain....I'm thinking that I can make something very similar to the druzy stone out of some glue & glitter. Check back in on Monday! Hope you have a great weekend! Druzy Stone & Geode Jewelry 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,... Continue reading ...
Friday Finishline: Dream Craft Room & Upcoming Projects
Just a few pieces of eye candy for my dream vintage-anthro-rustic-inspired craft room that will hopefully be completed before the little guy gets here. I want all my goodies tucked up and away, not only so I can access them at any time but also to save curious little fingers from ouchies Weekend: I've got a few projects lined up, but this is the last weekend the in-laws are in town so I don't know how much I'll get to. Their trip has been great so far and I wish they could visit much more ofte... Continue reading ...
