It just needed a little clarification and this sign is just what was in order... here we go!

DIY Falling for Fall Door Sign

Posted by Honor on Sunday, September 23, 2012, In : Decor Crafts

I was feeling festive this weekend and decided that our front door needed to be festive as well. So I scrounged around the craft closet to see what I had. To be found were four little canvases, lots of scrapbook paper, paint and some wooden letters that we intended for another project. This one won the battle of fall diys that were dancing around in my noodle.

It is a pretty straight forward diy.

First cut out scrapbook paper and glue to the canvas. I left a little border around the edge so I...

DIY Boho Leather Feather Earrings

Posted by Honor on Friday, September 21, 2012, In : Accessories
What is it with me and earrings lately? I guess it is because I want to wear them so badly but can't. Those of you that have babies, or have ever baby-sat know what I am talking about. I see dangle-ly ones over here, pretty sparkly ones over there and (my fav) big ol retro hoops on her and her and her! But alas my earlobes can't take the tugging. Oh well! That doesn't mean I stop making them. Someday I will be able to wear earrings for more than 5 minutes. So besides earrings I also hav...

Pre Halloween 2012

Posted by Honor on Thursday, September 20, 2012, In : Life At Home
So here are a few snapshots around the house pre-Halloween. Starting to break out my fall decorations. First pic is of some super cute (and easy to DIY) plush pumpkins. You can find some tuts here, here or here.

Handsome bugger isn't he? I picked him up here.

Is it to early to break out the wheat & pumpkins? When really, is it ok to start decorating for fall? Here in southern California it is hard to tell when fall actually starts.

I'll make sure to do a side by side when this mantel is all done...

Today was a good day... Beach Day

Posted by Honor on Sunday, September 16, 2012, In : Life At Home

In order to escape the blazing-hot-surface-of-the-sun-indian-summer we are experiencing here in southern California, we did what any sane family would do and headed to the beach. It was a great family day. Thought I would share a couple of snapshots. Hope you are having a great weekend. Lots of DIYs scheduled for this week!

DIY Moss Animal Silhouette

Posted by Honor on Thursday, September 13, 2012, In : Decor Crafts

Ready for fall decorating festivities? I am. While yes, I have been totally entrenched in my DIY Halloween Party decoration extravaganza, I also have been thinking about fall. Cool breezes, leaves changing color, having a legitimate reason to bake a pie.... just a few of my favorite things about fall.
This DIY is something that can easily be adapted to fit any decor or any holiday. I picked a moose because it feels fall-ly to me. I also was considering a witch on a broom. But I didn't do ...

DIY Fur Boot Socks

Posted by Honor on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, In : Clothing

Finally we are feeling the fall here in southern California.

Yeahhhhhh! Yes! Whoot-whoot! Oh Boooy :)

Feel my enthusiasm? No? Well how about another whoopeeeee!

We live in an interesting part of San Diego. Far enough away from the coast to avoid the constant marine layer during May-June-July, but close enough to the mountains to see the thunderheads and count the lighting strikes but avoid the torrential downpour. So as I watched the thunderheads yesterday with the kiddos and perused the intran...

DIY Sewn Envelopes

Posted by Honor on Monday, September 10, 2012, In : Party Decorations
These are companions to my DIY Fabric & Paper Scrap Sewn Cards... they are best buds. So if you do one I recommend doing the other.

Great diy right? Perfect for those left over pages of scrapbooking paper. The ones that don't really go with any of the layouts/crafts you are doing, but are so pretty that you want to show them off...
For a complete list of tips & tricks visit this page.

But here are a couple of quick pointers.

*Make sure to use contrasting thread so it really stands out... o...

What is up... things to come

Posted by Honor Hansen on Monday, September 10, 2012, In : Life At Home
Sooo. I know I promised a DIY stitched envelope tutorial. It is coming. I just had to pick up some thread in a different color. Don't worry it will be worth it.. you will be able to bath in all it's cuteness glory.
But mostly I wanted to check in and let you know that this weekend was dedicated to prepping for my Halloween extravaganza. A little early? Yeah I guess so... but I plan on starting a family tradition of a totally awesome blow-your-socks-off Halloween Costume party and I w...

DIY Fabric & Paper Stitched Cards (Tips For Sewing On Paper)

Posted by Honor on Thursday, September 6, 2012, In : Party Decorations

There really is nothing like a handmade card. Such a special little treat when you open up an envelope and you see this little piece of crafty heaven. Someone made it with their own two hands. It is like getting a chunk of the love chocolate bar via the post.
And giving a handmade card?

Oh it is so nice to be nice :)

Sometimes you just want the person to feel how special they are to you.

I plan on sending some fall valentines to my sweethearts who are spread out across the US. Here are my ...

DIY Leather Leaf Hair Pin

Posted by Honor on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, In : Accessories

Found myself longing for fall this week. Fall is fabulous don't you think? The weather is just lovely. You can wear coats, scarves, sweaters, boots, leggings and knit caps. Who doesn't love a great pair of boots over leggings with a cozy sweater and scarf?! There are also so many great fall activities like apple picking, pumpkin carving and baking. Not to mention the decorating... oh the decorating! Halloween and Thanksgiving are such fun holidays to decorate for. I already have a huge runnin...
