DIY Nail Polish Oxford Refashion

Posted by Honor on Thursday, January 31, 2013, In : Accessories

Pretty nifty refashion, eh? Just scoop up some neon pink bottles of nail polish from the dollar store, rescue your long forgotten plain oxfords from the bottom of the closet and paint away. There really isn't much more to it... but here are some extra pointers

Tips & Tricks:
*Work in the shade. Learned that the hard way. If you sit in the hot sun, it will bake that nail polish so fast, you won't be able to spread it fast enough and will be left with some hideous lumps.
*Have some polish remo...

How to Sew an Envelope Clutch (10 minutes or less!)

Posted by Honor on Friday, January 4, 2013, In : Accessories
My post yesterday (diy splatter refashion) was an easy refashion of this must know diy. Enjoy!

Couldn't get any simpler. These handy little pouches can be used for so many things. Think make up bag, ipad/kindle travel case, diaper pouch, gift bag, journal cover.... really anything! You can also get really creative with your choice of fabric. Just make sure to choose one that has some weight and stiffness to it otherwise you will have one floppy mess.

In case you missed it this was my version of...

White Tee Refashion into Tribal Infinity Scarf

Posted by Honor on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, In : Accessories

Lately I have really been into fashion. Shocker right? But no, really. I bounce back and forth between home decor/home remodeling to fashion & purses... maybe shoes too :). I exhaust all outlets like pinterest, polyvore, blogs and flickr on one subject for about a week then switch to the other. Never ending, back and forth, back and forth. Am I alone in this quirk? One week my coffee table is covered in Vogue, Lucky and Elle. Then the next I clear it to cover it again with Country Living, Ell...

So if you saw my last post, you would have seen these gorgeous earrings.

B-E-A-U-tiful right?! I thought so. I also thought that the concept behind them wasn't that tricky, a quick and easy diy. Just a dab of glitter will do ya sometimes and here is my attempt at these beauties... only these fellas are in my first and second fav colors, sparkle and turquoise ;)

and here is how I did it... note: this diy is demonstrated on a different pair of earrings but you will get the gist.

So so so simple...

DIY Fur Boot Socks

Posted by Honor on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, In : Clothing

Finally we are feeling the fall here in southern California.

Yeahhhhhh! Yes! Whoot-whoot! Oh Boooy :)

Feel my enthusiasm? No? Well how about another whoopeeeee!

We live in an interesting part of San Diego. Far enough away from the coast to avoid the constant marine layer during May-June-July, but close enough to the mountains to see the thunderheads and count the lighting strikes but avoid the torrential downpour. So as I watched the thunderheads yesterday with the kiddos and perused the intran...

How to Wear a Cloche Hat

Posted by Honor on Friday, August 31, 2012, In : Beauty

Fall fashion can be tricky right? I love seeing new styles and trying certain things out, but there is always that one piece/accessory that I reserve for the 'Oh I could never pull that one off' category. This season it is the cloche hat. A little vintage, a little preppy and a whole lot of sass. Right up my alley. The cloche hat made a reappearance last fall season and it seems to be sticking around for a while. But it does look like a difficult accessory to correctly style... at least t...

Start with clean dry hair. Pull it back into a loose pony tail. Then you want to get your 'magic triangle'. Find the center of the top of your head and start from there. Then You part your hair...
