Guess who is on a pink and orange kick? Moi! My diy watercolor spritzed envelopes
from yesterday were only the beginning! Not only am I embellishing my
correspondence with O&P now I am adorning myself with the che ery
color combo. During the fall/winter, I find myself pining for the bold
colors and life of spring/summer. So how do I put on a happy face? By
pinning on a flower to my jacket or scarf. I made a big ol batch of
simple flower pins a couple of falls ago and now they are... Continue reading ...
DIY Embellished Hair Comb: Parts Five and Six
Sick of hair comb ideas yet? No? Good! Cuz here are two more beauties. Both equally simple and fab. If you haven't yet, make sure to check out parts one/two and three/four.A recap on what I am doing here. At the beginning of the new year I was a bit bogged down reminiscing about sugar plums and faux snow frosted ornaments. In other words I was feeling a bit low because the NY signals the end of my favorite time of the year. My creative juices weren't flowing. They were more like syurp. sooooo... Continue reading ...

I know the pictures are a tad dark but I really wanted to try and convey the magical (and super feminine) feel of this lampshade. It came out so warm and well, pretty.I picked up those vintage curtains a couple of weeks ago. Aren't those pretty too? Love them, love looking at them, but I am not so fond of the thing hanging in front of them. The fixture over our sink has never been right. It was just something I picked up at Lowe's one day when the hubs told me that his electrician friend was ... Continue reading ...
DIY Paper Plate Flowers
So we are in the middle of a room shuffle. My office is becoming the shared kids room and Lou's old room is becoming my office. This makes the most sense because my old office space is HUGE, just perfect for two little bodies to crawl around in and it seemed selfish of me to horde all that space for myself. So.... right now I am up to my eyeballs in boxes to donate, papers to file, clothes to sort ect ect ect. All the 'fun' stuff. Fun Fun Fun. So of course during nap time I neglected the orga... How to Press Flowers with Wax Paper
Get ready to have a flashback to elementary school with this craft tutorial. This is very similar to melted crayon wax paper crafts, but with a more grown up and 'springy' twist. Now go for a little walk through your yard and pick some interesting little flowers and leaves. The daintier the better, try to avoid bulky roses :) Enjoy! What you will need: A roll of wax paper, tear off two large sheets. Fresh flowers and leaves (like I said earlier, dainty w... Continue reading ...

Rolled flowers have quickly become one of my favorite crafts! I see them used absolutely everywhere and they are so very simple to make! Fabric scraps & hot glue is basically all you need! I have seen them used on everything from clothing, to pillows, to lampshades to jewelry to art. The following is a basic tutorial of how to make rolled flowers.
