Guess who is on a pink and orange kick? Moi! My diy watercolor spritzed envelopes
from yesterday were only the beginning! Not only am I embellishing my
correspondence with O&P now I am adorning myself with the che ery
color combo. During the fall/winter, I find myself pining for the bold
colors and life of spring/summer. So how do I put on a happy face? By
pinning on a flower to my jacket or scarf. I made a big ol batch of
simple flower pins a couple of falls ago and now they are... Continue reading ...

So lately I have had glitter on the brain. Could it be because I was asked to collaborate with a big name on some glitter diys? (YAYYYYYYYY YIPPPPEEEE for me ;) ) Yeah I bet that's it. Details to come soon. Big toothy grin over here.
But anyway I have been brainstorming up a storm (punny right?!) for this feature diy. Brainstorming is kind of my thing. I love bubble charts and lists. Any scrap piece of paper is subject to my doodles and ideas. But now that my feature diy is complete I tho... Continue reading ...

Anyone remember Fiona Paxton? I sure do. Miz Paxton is a fabulous, glamorous, tremendous all the 'ous' adjectives you can think of, jewelry designer. Her beaded/chain Sylvie necklaces were all the rage a few years ago. They were popping up all over the place and on every 'it' female fashionista. Think Jessica Alba, Hilary Duff, Cameron Diaz ect ect ect. Well oh well... to this day I still think about those suckers and wish that I had a few hundo laying around so I could score myself one of th... Continue reading ...

Hey Hey Hey Hi Hi Hi... I am all hopped up on creative juices. They are a'flowin. I am up to my eyeballs in Halloween decorations and thought I would take a quick breather to share a jewelry DIY. Give my spider web weaving fingertips a rest and let me noodle think about something else other than skulls, spiders and witches. This fancy schmancy necklace gets a lot of compliments (but doesn't take very long to make and requires ZERO skills). If you can wield a pair of scissors and a hot glue gun... Continue reading ...

Alright time to jump on the bib necklace bandwagon. You see them allllll over the place. At first glance I was like 'yeah right I really want to look like a gladiator/baby'... gladiator because it reminded me of armor and baby because it reminded me of well, a bib. But as always fashion styles grow on me until I find myself wearing a beret, harem pants a fur vest and lace boot socks all at the same time ;). Ok a little over the top but I honestly have changed my opinion on bib neckl... Continue reading ...

Ahhh September fashion issue... I do love you and your 'two-inch-thick-ad-section-before-you-even-get-to-the-table-of-contents'. Lately I am loving the metal lace cuff bracelets that are showing up here and there. One such designer of these cuffs is Aurelie Bidermann. Her wares sell @ Bloomingdales, Barneys and Net-a-porter. All way way wayyyyy out of my price range. ouch! this bad boy sells for over $1,800.... well... it is dipped in 18 karat gold. Here is my version. Pretty good for 5 doll ... Continue reading ...

so lately I have really been feeling the Indian beaded bracelet look. Perfect for summer. Free spirited. Just plain cool and they really never go out of style. A classic. What is not so cool is how time consuming they seem to be. Granted I have never tried to make one, they just seem to be time consuming. Plus I don't have any of the supplies required to make them. So here is what I believe to be a clever way to make a faux Indian beaded bracelet. I picked up a pack ... Continue reading ...

Must have tassels on the brain. Did you check out my 2 Minute DIY Tassel Earrings? They are super easy and fabulous. If I do say so myself. Had a few tassels and jewels left over from previous DIYs, so thought I would whip myself up a quick necklace. Here we go What you need: Some silk cord (neon pink is the best kind), some jewels, a tassel and some scissors. What to do: First I cut off a length of the silk cord, longer the better. Then I strung my large tassel and fished a big jewel loop on to ... Continue reading ...

Ready for a super quickie?! This project literally takes two minutes and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Super simple and super 'anthropologie chic'. Enjoy
What you need: A medium to large sized doily. I picked up my colorful one from the $1 section at Micheal's. An embroidery hoop that is a touch smaller than the doily and lastly your earrings that lay about in disarray. What to do. Unscrew the embroidery hoop clasp a touch. Secure the doily in place between the two pieces of the embro... Continue reading ...

I am totally gushing over Druzy Stone Jewelry, and have been spending quite a bit of time gawking over these pieces of jewelry for sale on etsy. I really like how the rough natural feel of the stone looks when it is paired with smooth shininess of gold or silver. But all this gawking is not in vain....I'm thinking that I can make something very similar to the druzy stone out of some glue & glitter. Check back in on Monday! Hope you have a great weekend! How to Make a Pearl Embellished Bangle Bracelet
This DIY is more of an idea than a tutorial. Just a reminder that you probably already have great accessories laying about the house, you just need to be a bit creative with your household materials. I regularly raid my jewelry stash and tear up all the Forever 21/Clarie's ect jewelry. None of it is very expensive and it usually doesn't hold up to wear and tear very well, so I get rid of the cheap parts and keep the interesting better made compo... Continue reading ...
