I was in need of a quick craft to keep my hands busy while the kids napped today. I am trying to limit the amount of (somewhat wasted) time I spend on pinterest/facebook/flickr ect ect ect ect ect. I just get sucked in and a couple of hours later I am zonked, have accomplished nothing and now have to go attend to the babes. Bleck! So here is a cute quickie. Good for either you or your lady-ettes in training.... You will need the supplies above. Fabric scraps, thick baker's trim, scissors and h... Continue reading ...
DIY Landscaping: California Waterwise Front Yard
Thought I would share a little tour of my yard. I have shared snippets here and there on facebook & instagram, but never a full spread. If I'm not DIY'n you can find me here. Gloves and wellies on, face smudged with dirt and sweat and a shovel in hand. I started out knowing nothing and now I feel pretty confidant in my gardening abilities. What was once a dirt patch is now something pretty special (at least to me!). And I guess I must be doing something right cuz the neighbors stop and say th... Continue reading ...

Guess who is on a pink and orange kick? Moi! My diy watercolor spritzed envelopes

correspondence with O&P now I am adorning myself with the che ery
color combo. During the fall/winter, I find myself pining for the bold
colors and life of spring/summer. So how do I put on a happy face? By
pinning on a flower to my jacket or scarf. I made a big ol batch of
simple flower pins a couple of falls ago and now they are... Continue reading ...
DIY Hand Stamped Wrapping Paper
Back into the swing of things I guess?! Crafting always helped clear my mind (aka distract me from the incessant thoughts and worries buzzing around up there). So what better way to distract myself than with the thoughts of my loved ones faces when I present them with these b-e-a-utiful hand wrapped lovelies.
I did a little experimenting today. Stamp experimenting that is. I did a few variations and this is the first one that I deemed fit to share with you. I tried all sorts of things to stam... Continue reading ...

My Retro Camping Trailer BIG Reveal
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Can you sense my excitement?! After many late late nights of painting and sewing I am so proud to reveal our retro 70's camping trailer! (Need to confirm the make/year/model with the hubs) but that is not really important. What is important is that our little trailer is sooo purdy ;) Its like my third child now. First I thoroughly scrubbed her top to bottom till she was spark spanking sparkling clean. Then I carefully coated her entire interior with many coats of paint.... Continue reading ...

Attention all Southern Californians!!! This is my secret shopping spot that I am reluctantly yet happily sharing with you! Have you ever been in that boat? Found someplace that you adore such as a restaurant or shop, so you hold that knowledge tightly to your chest is fear of it' getting out' and inevitably changing? Well I am going against my better judgment and sharing this fabulous shopping caravan with you. They have an event coming up that you don't want to miss, so get out... Continue reading ...
Shopping Review: The Vintage Marketplace
One of my favorite flea markets! The Vintage Marketplace happens about 4 times a year located in Rainbow California (right on the edge of San Diego & Temecula county lines) at the Rainbow Oaks park and shopping center. It doesn't hurt that this show is only five minutes from my house! I mean come on! 5 minutes! One of the downfalls of living in the country (as country as San Diego can be ;) ) is that EVERYthing is so dang far! And with rising gas prices I really think twice about my car ad... Shopping Review: Second Chances Barn
Living in a small town, and quite a commute to favorite resources (Ikea, Hobby Lobby, Target ect) I am so very happy to report such a lovely shopping find! Second Chances Barn is located right up the country road from me in Fallbrook. Outfitted in an old metal barn along side a babbling creek I have found it such a pleasant place to shop. Similar to Urban Barn (which I reviewed HERE) the shop is stocked full of a variety of vendors. Lots of reclaimed furniture that has been given a second ... Continue reading ...
Shopping Review: Urban Barn
As an avid flea marketer and junker I can't pass up a permanent installation of quality salvage and retro antiques. Urban Barn provides such! Located in an industrial part of Escondido CA, it can be a little difficult to locate your first time but it is fairly easy to get to because it is almost directly off the freeway. Urban Barn is housed in a giant warehouse and parking lot full of salvage, antiques, retro gear & handcrafted lovelies. Every time I have visited Urban Barn I leave wi... Continue reading ...
