 DO IT YOURSELF Bookcase Dollhouse  A perfect rainy day project. This little old lady of a bookcase was fancified over the weekend. All it took was me dragging out my unbelievably large stash of scrapbook paper, scissors and many glue sticks.

      What a feeding frenzy! Between her and the ducks our bits of bread didn't last more than 5 minutes. I must say that they were the most aggressive ducks/geese/water fowl I have ever ventured to feed. We are talking swarms here! Even pecked our toes! So I am thinking that maybe Lou with the attitude ate the bread out of self defense. So exciting to be able to capture her 'firsts'. This was her first butterfly! I was futzing around inside when the hubs ran in and said grab the camera. There they were, engaged in a dance of sort. The butterfly letting Lou with the attitude dangerously close before it flitter and fluttered away. Like a feather on the breeze. Found myself longing for fall this week. Fall is fabulous don't you think? The weather is just lovely. You can wear coats, scarves, sweaters, boots, leggings and knit caps. Who doesn't love a great pair of boots over leggings with a cozy sweater and scarf?! There are also so many great fall activities like apple picking, pumpkin carving and baking. This weekend my parents, the babies and I flew up to Portland Oregon to visit my grandmother. She is my one and only grandmother, as my maternal one passed before I could meet her. (That statement makes me sad because from all the stories I hear about Betty Lou, she and I would have been thick as thieves. We all have adventures... some bigger than others. It is so easy to forget how it was when we were little, where EVERYTHING was an adventure. Going to the store, birthday parties, school, tree swings, parades and of course bath time.... all little adventures that shape our personalities as well as our past.

 Well I decided to take a little 'mini vacay' and enjoy some time gardening with my to little buggers. Thought I could get a lot done planning some DIYs but alas life as a mama of two is very distracting. I got lots of reading of story books, bath times and snacks made but little work done. Oh well. Not much will get done this weekend either because it is good ol mom's day and I will try to relax. Yeah right! Please enjoy this selection on handmade mother's day gifts.
