Alright diyers, now that Thanksgiving is over the real holiday mission is on. Your mission (ok, really my mission): Decorate the tree and house is only handmade, natural or found elements. NO STORE BOUGHT hocus pocus. I try so hard every holiday season to not indulge in all the costly holiday pretties.... but it is so hard! Those lovelies are well, so lovely!
I welcome you to the first of my handmade ornaments. This one is super simple and involves watercolors. I have been on a really big watercolor kick lately... can you tell? Have you seen my blog design? Oh well...  here we go!

Please forgive the really junky lighting in the how-to pics. I am making all my ornaments at night while the kiddos sleep and the hubs is working so please bear with me :)
Couldn't get much simpler could it?! This pretty little paper lantern gets it's specialness from the watercolor and small intricate designs. I added the top and bottom circle at the last minute, but feel free to skip that part. You could also get really fancy and string some sparkly beads in the center of the lantern. Ooh la la :)
I got the desired outcome I was looking for. A little anthropologie a little etsy... just the right mix of handmade, art and pretty.

Stay tuned for more holiday ornaments.

Thanks for stopping by!
