Easiest & Tastiest Guacamole Recipe

Posted by Honor on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, In : Recipes
This really is the easiest & tastiest guacamole recipe. Get yourself some (American grown!!!!) ripe avocados, slice them in half, scoop out with a table spoon, add two heaping dollops of Mexican salsa, sprinkle salt/garlic salt to taste and smush/chop it all together with two large forks. If you are on the fiery side, by all means add some hot sauce (you feisty thing you!).
No more dicing onions, peppers, tomatoes ect... be gone cutting board and watering eyes! Why make it more difficult th...

DIY Neon Garland

Posted by Honor on Thursday, March 7, 2013, In : Party Decorations

Can't believe that my little man is almost a year old! Whew time sure flies!

But then it doesn't

But then it does... know what I mean? Nights are long, days are short. You know, things like that.

Anywhos. I'm getting in gear to partay. Heeeey. But I gotta keep this party on a budget, man. A strictly diy kind of event. Those are the best anyways. A little crooked, a little wonky, but perfectly mushy gushy sentimental.

You can't have a party with out a string of garland or two. I was in Lowe's th...

DIY Watercolor Spritzed Envelopes

Posted by Honor on Monday, February 18, 2013, In : Party Decorations

Not much is better than receiving a pretty personal piece of mail (say that five times fast!). You know what I mean. Like when you were seven, ripping open the birthday card from dear ol granny. Or like the time you tenderly peeled back the edge to see the beautiful wedding invite from your best friend.  Or like when you gingerly open one of the numerous holiday cards, to be greeted by smiling faces and a drooling tongue (of your friend's dog... not their kid... hopefully).

DIY Hand Stamped Wrapping Paper

Posted by Honor on Monday, December 17, 2012, In : Party Decorations
Back into the swing of things I guess?! Crafting always helped clear my mind (aka distract me from the incessant thoughts and worries buzzing around up there). So what better way to distract myself than with the thoughts of my loved ones faces when I present them with these b-e-a-utiful hand wrapped lovelies.

I did a little experimenting today. Stamp experimenting that is. I did a few variations and this is the first one that I deemed fit to share with you. I tried all sorts of things to stam...

Hallowen Party Success!

Posted by Honor on Monday, October 15, 2012, In : Party Decorations

My little muscle man was pooped out before the party even started!

Well, the party went off with out a hitch. It was a blast! The kiddos bounced to their little hearts content, decorated dozens of mini pumpkins and ate their weight in candy.
I made waaaaay to much food, but hey, leftovers are the best right? And I may have gone overboard with the decorations. Just a little. A smidgen. My only regret is that I wish I took more pics. You all know how it gets before a party. The running around wit...

DIY Spooky Halloween Hallway

Posted by Honor on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, In : Party Decorations

All you need is some Halloween spider webbing and a pack of spider silhouettes (found @ the Dollar Tree), to create this spooky hallway.

 Some quick tips
* If you have very textured walls you can just secure the webbing to that, otherwise you will need some double stick tape or tacks. My walls were covered in nails (from an empty picture frame display), so I just used those.
* Spread the webbing as thin as possible. It looks more realistic that way.
*Locate the webbing @ just above head height. ...

Party Prepp'n

Posted by Honor on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, In : Life At Home

Invitations are being sent. Decorations are being put together. Recipes are being researched.

I am in complete and total party prep mode. Yes I have a month till the party but I think that half the fun is the prep. Am I alone in this thought and feeling? Probably not. But it seems that I like imposing a little stress on myself. Life has been running a little to smoothly... to peaceful... to serene. Nothing like a party to put you in total manic-panic mode. Why do we do this? Impose deadlines...

How to Glitter a Candle

How to glitter a candle... how to glitter anything actually!

Now this is my kind of craft. Quick, inexpensive and totally girly! I had a serious glitter phase in jr high and I don't think it every truly wore off. My parents would get peeved at me because when my dad was rushing off to some important business meetings, my mom always had to double check his face and person for flecks of glitter. I even remember literally throwing glitter up into the air and letting it rain down into my hair be...
