The Big Chop

Posted by Honor on Thursday, August 29, 2013, In : Life At Home
Well..... I did it. I chopped off all my hairs. It only took me 27 years to work up enough courage to do it (first year doesn't count as I was a baldy).

Wait before you all yell and scream at me 'Why???? But WHYYYYY!!!!!!?????'.... (as my husband may or may not of done).... I have been WANTING to do this for years. Really, years. But change is kinda scary right?! But good. But scary.

So blame it on the pregnancy hormones. My violent heat flashes. Hours spent on pinterest looking at this

DIY Perfect High Pony & How to Capture Bangs

Posted by Honor on Thursday, July 4, 2013, In : Beauty

Alright, you caught me. I'm a mom. And with that comes lots and lots of 'mom-ism'. Mom sayings, mom humor and yes the mom uniform. For me? It's a plain shirt, jeans and a cardi with my hair in either a high pony or messy top knot. I do love a good pony. But alas alas I seem to always be struggling with my bangs. Do I keep em? Do I trim em? Grow em out? What to do what to do. Well, nothing over night can be done, so I guess I just have to figure out a way to deal with them. Up until recently...

DIY Braided Fishtail Headband

Posted by Honor on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, In : Beauty

Here is my tweak on a crazy popular hairstyle right now, the braided headband. Nothing really that crazy, I just threw in a couple of fishtail braids. I think I actually prefer a fishtail now. If I braid my hair with a couple of these, while it's still damp, after it drys I'm left with some pretty (and natural looking) waves. If you haven't already, check out my braided fishtail crown DIY, it's pretty popular. Or go here to see the rest of my beauty diys. Now onto the tut

DIY Two Minute Braided Hairstyle (It's A Lifesaver!)

Posted by Honor on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, In : Beauty

Whats a girl gonna do when she only has two minutes to get ready before she has to make a mad dash out the door lugging screaming baby in a carseat, corralling a mouthy two year old, cursing the dog for almost tripping her down the stairs, holding an extra diaper in her mouth and trying to remember where she put the darn keys????

This is what I do. This is what I do when I haven't showered, haven't brushed my hair, may or may have forgot to put deodorant on and definitely have a baby food ...

DIY Double Braid Boho Side Bun

Posted by Honor on Thursday, January 24, 2013, In : Beauty

This has gotta be my all time favorite braided hairstyle. And let me tell ya, I've had at least 2 feet of hair my entire life, so there have been quite a few braided dos.
Boho dos can be more difficult to maintain than you think. I love the whole 'wind swept/slept-in/party-all-night' look, I just try to steer clear of the 'homeless' thang. This do does have the boho braids down pat, but also keeps you looking chic because of it's clever twist (more on that soon). I also have bangs and a ...

While this was just for fun,  I really do always find myself using these hairstyles on Lou. Simple and quick. Quick enough for a squirmy toddler.

Supplies: Lots of little elastics, Lots of clippies, a good brush, a couple of headbands and lots of patience.

Ahhh! This is how the princess makes her appearance in the morning. Two little frown lines and one messy head of hair.
